Saturday found us hosting yet another ‘secret’ wedding! This time for Jared Followill and Martha Patterson. As usually our lips are sealed on the details, but here is what People Magazine had to say.
When Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill wed model Martha Patterson on Saturday, the occasion was nothing short of country chic.
The couple exchanged vows at Front Porch Farmsin Charlotte, Tenn., a private 32-acre estate located just 30 minutes outside of Nashville.
While Patterson, 21, stunned in a gown by Monique Lhuillier, Followill, 25, and his groomsmen wore suits by Gucci.
Guests danced to the sounds of DJ Devin Lucien and enjoyed catering from Chefs Market during the bash, which was organized with the help of celebrity event planner Sharon Sacks.
“They had a great farm-to-table cuisine with all of their favorite things. It was down home and very real. It was very much true to their style,” a guesttells PEOPLE.
As the couple’s big day came to a close, Followill took to Twitter to reflect, Tweeting: “Aaaaaand I’m married. Happiest man in the world.”

Melissa & Eric – They look like they both stepped right out of a magazine. The photos Phindy Studios took are amazing. Their wedding day could not have been more perfect. The love they share is so sweet and we genuinely enjoyed sharing this special day with them and their families. But stop right there – I said the day could not have been more perfect. BUT, was their day perfect because everything went off without a hitch? NO. I have to admit while it was picture perfect, it was not without it’s snags but just like marriage, it’s how you embrace and overcome the “trials” that make the triumphs all the more sweeter! Eric & Melissa will have no problem focusing on what’s important!!
The morning started with no movers showing up to bring the church pews from storage and set up. I spent an hour trying to find a crew and just when I thought I was going to have to tell Melissa no church pews, Brian and James stopped everything to get them all by themselves – and let me tell you they are extremely extremely heavy and so large that it takes multiple trips with the trailer. This put us behind a few hours but we worked quickly to get everything else in place. Brian’s custom arbor was secured and the flowers arranged beautifully by the gals at Enchanted Florist. We set up the reception, did the last minute clean ups, ran through rehearsal, assisted vendors and untangled ribbons hanging from the tree countless times. When it was time to put the flowers on the cake, Jessica (sister/cake baker/Matron of Honor) could not find them anywhere. I searched and searched and called the florist only to have her confirm they were left in the kitchen. We never found them but Chef’s Market came to the rescue with flowers they brought for their decor. We later figured out that somehow the cake flowers were used on the arbor! During cocktails we lit the beautiful peach beeswax candles. They were fast burning and were gone before dinner was served! We replaced them with extras which of course melted just as quickly. The rest ran smoothly until send off when Eric had trouble driving the very cool vintage car. After some good-hearted laughs at his expense and a push by the groomsmen, Eric got it moving!
All these things are minor so why bring them up? Because the point is – even picture perfect has it’s reality. The key is to put on those “rose colored glasses” (song by John Connolly) and only see the beauty of marrying the love of your life. Nothing else matters! Your happiness will make your day picture perfect as well.

Eric: Melissa and I met on June 7, 2004, at the ages of 16 and 15. We were both volunteering at Handycamp, a camp for adults with mental disabilities. She’d come up from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, to Indiana, where I lived, to volunteer there with her church. When I met her, the first thought in my head was, “I’m going to marry this girl.” This was crazy, as we’d barely spoken yet, but I knew I was in love when I saw her interact with the campers- she was amazing.
Melissa: It’s hard to know when you’re 15, but I think I can honestly say that, from that first week I met him, I knew that Eric was an incredible person, and wanted him actively involved in my life, as much as was possible, in whatever capacity he could be. We tried dating long-distance through the remainder of high school- lots of letters, lots of phone calls, an occasional visit. That was made a whole lot easier (a relative term!) when I moved to Nashville a few months after we met. We tried our best not to let distance get in the way, but the realities of living so far apart were hard. Yet, every time we were around each other it confirmed what we already were feeling, even being physically apart for so long- we very much loved each other, and Eric and I felt like we were perfectly matched for each other.
Eric: We decided to stop being ridiculous, and just fully give into love the summer going into college. Our problem was that we were going to different universities: Ball State in Indiana, and Belmont in Nashville. During freshman year, Melissa and I would visit each other at least once a month, driving 6 hours and 347 miles just to see each other for a weekend. Through some budgeting and lots of figuring, I did transfer to Belmont. Finally, after 3 years, we were able to date like a normal couple.
The school year was wonderful, we wasted no time in spending time with each other, whether it was writing papers together or staying up late in the dorm lobby playing scrabble online. The school year was over quickly and I went off to intern at Handycamp back in Indianapolis. We got to see each other sparingly during the summer, and once I was back in Nashville for the school year, she jetted off to Australia to study abroad.
Melissa: Luckily we weren’t new to the long distance relationship, however we’d never tried it over dramatically different time zones or continents! The next few months consisted of late night and early morning Skype dates, where we’d catch each other up on the days and weeks occurrences. For his birthday, Eric’s parents surprised him with tickets to visit me in Australia and we were thrilled! After I got back, the rest of junior year was a blur, and before we knew it, we were anticipating senior year and the life afterwards.
Eric: Upon our graduation from Belmont, Melissa was accepted to a Master’s of Marriage and Family Therapy program, and I got my dream job at Emma, a Nashville company. Shortly after these post-graduation plans were concrete, we knew it was finally time. I purchased the pear-shaped diamond she’d been imagining since middle school. The day before she turned 22, more than six years after we first met, I proposed to her in a gazebo on Belmont’s campus where, 4 years prior, I promised her I would transfer and we would try to date normally. I wanted to finish that promise and start a new one that would last the rest of our lives.

Rachel and Todd were married on Saturday in a beautiful ceremony at the farm.
In addition to this being one of the first few weddings in the newly completed pavillion(we are so excited about that) Brian went above and beyond by creating a bar made from old barnwood and farm house tables to match especially for Rachel & Todd’s day.

How do a boy from Seattle and a girl from Nashville end up together?
They meet while attending college in North Carolina. We first started to get to know one another at a summer baseball game in Nashville against Lipscomb University where Todd was catching for Campbell University.
Our relationship developed quickly and we are still together five years later despite a challenging long distance relationship. While he is interested in the financial field and works for a bank, I’m focused on a career as a pharmacist in acute inpatient care.
Our career pursuits may be different, but we enjoy many things together including sports, the outdoors, cooking and classic movies.
Todd surprised me on a casual walk with my chocolate lab Ruger outside of my home in Nashville on New Year’s Day of 2010; a simple proposal that can be remembered in our every-day activities together.
Front Porch Farms was a choice we both felt right about as it has all the things we desired in a wedding venue to create a unique experience. Its location on a hill provides a casual outdoor atmosphere to enjoy the company of family and friends where we can enjoy the colorful fall leaves surrounding us in the valley. The location provides the freedom to be creative and have a unique wedding for all of us to remember for a lifetime.
