Mandi & Kyle – March 24, 2012

Mandi and Kyle’s wedding marked the first of the wedding season for us at Front Porch Farms. The day started out with a torrential rainstorm, lasting up until the minute the bride arrived. From the second she stepped foot onto our property, the sun magically came out and shone brightly, becoming the most beautiful early spring day instantaneously. Mandi’s own sunny disposition seemed to clear things up, and we quickly worked to dry off the chairs outside so she could have the hilltop wedding of her dreams.

Mandi’s wedding was chock-full of lovely little details, from the pretty geometric print pale yellow table runners to the coral blooms arranged on her Dulce Desserts cake. She wore a figure-flattering all-lace dress and personally handmade a lot of the decor. Oh, and need I mention the scrumptious grits bar they served? DELICIOUS.

WEDDING – Shannon & Chris April 29, 2012

Title: WEDDING – SHANNON & CHRIS
Date: 2012-04-29

What a joy it was getting to know Shannon during the process of her planning.  She thought of everything – how could she not, she had been planning this for a very long time. She and Chris had actually been a couple  since she was 13 I believe.  And her creativity certainly came naturally. Shannon’s mom Kelly Silver is shop owner to The Silver Boutique and has many talents from little girl clothes to invitations to flower boxes. They were quite the crafty team and not only am I excited about showcasing this beautiful wedding but also in working with Kelly in the future (she just designed my cousin’s wedding invitations).  Here’s a sneak peak from Burkey Photography’s blog. Thanks Brittany for sharing! Can’t wait to show more.

Words from the sweet bride:

“When meeting Kathy at Front Porch Farms for the first time we were relieved to find someone who was happy and excited about providing a wedding venue and helping us plan our wedding. I am not a bride that has had my wedding imagined since I was a little girl and was not quite sure where to start. Kathy helped suggest vendors and put us in contact with amazing photographers (Cheyenne Ward & Laci Wilson) and an amazing bakery (Mrs. J’s). As a very busy nursing student, I did not have much time in the months leading up to the wedding to do much planning and Kathy and Brian were able to help me get the last minute ideas/details/decorations nailed down.

“On the day of the wedding we had a couple hiccups as a storm had come through and caused a tree to fall onto the road to the venue. I had no idea any of this had even gone on until the sun came out and it was time to walk down the aisle. Although nothing could have ruined my mood that day anyway, Kathy & Brian took care of any issues that came up that day and remained calm through everything.

“I would highly recommend Front Porch Farms to anyone who wants an outdoor Tennessee wedding.  Thanks Kathy & Brian!”

Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood Weds Kelli Cashiola at Front Porch Farms

We were so excited Saturday to be the “secret location” for Dave Haywood and Kelli Cashiola’s wedding. Until we can share the amazing photos, you’ll just have to take everyone’s word for it!

Lady A’s Dave Haywood Weds Kelli Cashiola

It may not be FBO yet (Facebook Official). But it is officially official. As of Saturday night (April 14), Lady Antebellum‘s Dave Haywood, 29, is married. He tied the knot with Kelli Cashiola, 30, after proposing to her in a very grand way back in December. According to People magazine, the two were married on a private farm just outside Nashville. It’s called Front Porch Farms and is so thoroughly charming, it makes me want to renew my own wedding vows as soon as I can book it. Friends and family and bandmates gathered there to help Haywood and Cashiola celebrate the secret wedding. Cashiola wore a simple white backless dress with a simple chapel-length train and a simple white flower in her hair. She looked, well, simply gorgeous.

The sun was setting over a breathtaking view from a hill as family, friends and Haywood’s bandmates, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott, gathered around the couple at Front Porch Farms in Ashland City.

Singer/songwriter Dave Barnes provided the music for the intimate outdoor ceremony, which was followed by dinner and dancing. Guests were shuttled into the secret location.

A Country Chic Fall Wedding – With No Burlap!

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE BURLAP. I’ve used it a million times and it’s my “fall back” fabric. I recently made my friends and family Christmas wreaths using left over burlap, muslin and lace and I’m sure I’ll find numerous uses for it during this year’s weddings. HOWEVER, don’t be afraid to put COLOR on Brian’s beautiful farm tables.  This reception created by the talents of Amber Housley, Hillary Yeager, Brian Best and yours truly turned out gorgeous!

Budget Saving Tip:  You can buy table runners online in just about any color and in a variety of fabrics for less than $4 each.  Also, notice the variety of sizes and containers of the flower arrangements.  Sure there were tons of flowers but not all were big expensive arrangements.   Besides the mason jars of flowers, there were lots of single buds and petals mixed in with candle holders of various sizes and shapes.

Bonnie & Adam – May 22, 2011

Bonnie and Adam were married on a sunny, spring day in May.  Inspired by “country romance” and bright colors, Bonnie planned her outdoor wedding at Front Porch Weddings.  She was dressed in a white multi-tiered tulle gown and metallic flats.  Her four bridesmaids were dressed in various mint and grape-hued frocks, and they all carried bouquets of peach, purple, and bright yellow flowers {arranged by Rita Woodard}.  Their guests were seated at church pews facing the giant tree in the front yard of the Front Porch Farms home.

Going along with a loose theme evoking an antique schoolhouse, guests were directed to sign the guest book, grab some refreshing lemonade, and sit and mingle prior to the ceremony… all tasks written on a chalk “To Do List” stationed at a small greeting table.  Bonnie incorporated another school desk and chalkboard in the reception pavilion with an “assignment” written for guests to take home their favor notepads.

The farm tables were decorated with purple and green glass vases of varying heights and bright fuchsia blooms with baby’s breath.  Guests were served on antique china and silver.  Floating above the tables were suspended branch “chandeliers” with crystals intertwined.

Small cakes {including a two-tiered “wedding cake” for cutting} were displayed on a table with miniature lavender cupcakes, for a homegrown touch.  The bride changed into a short ivory dress and sandals for the couple’s sparkler departure.

Kristin & Jacob – June 24, 2011

On a bright, warm June Saturday, Kristin and Jake said their “I do”s beneath the oak tree at Front Porch Farms.  In accordance with the bride’s vintage Anthropologie-inspired vision, she incorporated many pretty little details throughout the day.  Her lace trumpet gown was hung on a personalized mahogany “Mrs Vaughn” dress hanger, pretty cream fabric flowers were pinned into her loose curls, and she carried a stunning bouquet of cream roses and hydrangea with lamb’s ear.  Her attendants, clad in customizable steel gray knit jersey cocktail dresses, carried similar bouquets in shades of light pink.  They all wore flat sandals to complete the look. Jake wore a beautiful blue shirt with his gray suit and tie.

To make the wedding look homey and inviting, Front Porch provided multiple pieces of mismatching vintage furniture for guests to lounge on, accented by burlap and pastel printed pillows.  Shepherd hooks suspended mason jars with wildflowers, lining the aisle of white folding chairs.  Groomsmen played bluegrass instruments prior to the ceremony’s start.  A literal “family tree” was displayed at the programs table with old portraits of family members at their weddings, clipped in with teensy clothespins.  Guests signed a print from Kristin & Jake’s engagement session.  The completed, signed frame was displayed at the reception.

Cream and antique-inspired details tied the reception look together.  Kristin used Front Porch Props’ lanterns as part of her tables’ centerpieces, along with stacked books wrapped in crocheted lace and watercolor prints and paintings.  Her favors were stacked beneath the stained glass window wall in Front Porch’s candy wagon:  handmade preserves which read “Spread the Love – June 24, 2011.”

The college sweethearts cut a small cake with frosted flowers and served chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry cupcakes from The Cupcake Collection.  Once the guests were “all danced out,” the fun-loving group jumped into the swimming pool.  It was the perfect ending to a perfectly lovely wedding.
