Janna & Todd

Title: Janna & Todd
Date: 2010-10-23

Janna & Todd wanted a wedding that reflected their unique personalities and interests.  Janna is certainly not a “traditional” bride and loved ideas that were out of the box. I had so much fun trading ideas with her.  “Must haves”  included balloons, outdoor games, a candy table and her aunt’s 3-tier polka-dotted wedding cake with lopsided layers (so cute)!  What developed from there was a “Night in the Park” theme. When guests arrived they “checked in” at the ticket counter to sign the guest book and receive tickets to the “show.”  Next, they enjoyed bottled cokes, lemonade and water along with sugar nuts from the vintage candy cart.

Thanks to Brian & FPF staff, the ceremony was held on a custom stage with 4 large columns and draping to give the feel of an outdoor theatre production.  Café tables with beautiful flower arrangements created by Enchanted Florist were set up for the family & friends with “general admission” seating behind. The Dean Martinis were the perfect accompaniment to this beautiful show.

Following the ceremony, guests moved to other areas of our “park” and discovered a concession stand with hotdog sliders and fried green tomatoes made by B&C Catering, a popcorn stand, Caricaturist Tracy Latham and Juggler/Stilt Walker Tom Foolery (Prime Source Entertainment) and several outdoor games. The bride’s cousin Cole carried popcorn, candy apples and nuts to guests in his vintage vendor box.

FPF staffers Cynthia & James created a romantic picnic area under tall trees, iron lanterns and café lights.  Apple green picnic tables with white benches were formed in a square with the wedding cake and café tables inside the center. Picnic basket centerpieces were filled with goodies and decorated with more of Enchanted Florist creations.  The candy table was overflowing with every kind of treat imaginable.

B&C Catering served an amazing meal on custom farm tables (also built by the talented Mr. Best).

Menu:
Salad of mixed greens, red onion, gorgonzola, pecans, apple cider vinaigrette
Hickory smoked chicken with white bbq sauce
Hickory smoked pork loin wrapped in bacon & served w/ Granny Smith apple & onion gravy
Mac-n-cheese bar w/ bacon, cheddar, green onions, blue cheese, roasted peppers for toppings
Fresh green beans w/ Vidalia onions & ham
B & C corn pudding
Sweet corn muffins & honey butter

When it was time to announce the bride & groom guests gathered around the pool to release tons of colorful balloons all tied with cards promoting a project very dear to Janna – Life’s Hope. http://www.lifeshope.org/.

I could go on and on with details and special touches but suffice it to say this is one event I don’t believe guests nor we will forget any time soon. Brian said it reminded him of ours! :-)
