Thomas 0141 Love Story: Stacey & Justin

Blind dates hardly ever work out the way we hope.  For that reason, mutual friends made for a more casual first meeting for Justin and Stacey.  They met for the first time at a birthday dinner – unbeknownst to them, the mutual friends invited ALL COUPLES and then the two of them!  Stacey sat next to Justin towards the end of the night and the conversation was easy.  They went out for their first real date the following week and decided they truly enjoyed each other’s company.
As the relationship progressed, Justin and Stacey realized they shared a passion for European travel.  Shortly before their two-year anniversary, they planned their “trip of a lifetime.”  With both of them having friends overseas, stops were planned in Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, and England.  The night before their anniversary, Justin proposed – in the market square of Brussels, Belgium!  Justin gets teased that the proposal was so grand that it will be tough to beat for the anniversaries to come!
Stacey found Front Porch Farms through another bride-to-be.  She took a trip with her sister out to the location and decided on the spot it was where she wanted to have the wedding.  Of course, Justin then visited and agreed it would be the perfect place.  Both Justin and Stacey are looking forward to their spring wedding and hope to find a house in Nashville soon where they can start their lives together.

MUSIC CITY IS THE BEST PLACE TO HAVE AN EVENT

75166 176289369048960 125179487493282 611710 3401605 n 300x200 MUSIC CITY IS THE BEST PLACE TO HAVE AN EVENTWhen you think of Nashville you think country music, Titans, Vanderbilt among other things. But what you might not realize is that Nashville is home to some of the best vendors in the country – musicians, photographers, stylists, caterers, florists, eventplanners – you name it, Nashville has them.

Why? Nashville knows how to do events and they do a lot of them. These vendors are all here for the entertainment, corporate, sports, and medical communities and at any given day they cater to some of the biggest names and corporations in the country. You can benefit from having these incredible resources for your own special day.

Think you have to have a year or more to plan your wedding? Just this weekend, Aspen & Thomas were married at Front Porch Farms and we did it in less than 3 months. Aspen & her mother Elaine lived in Colorado and we secured all the vendors and lined up details long distance within a few short weeks. It was a spectacular day with many details and personal touches. With the fabulous vendors and services Nashville has to offer, it doesn’t take any time at all to pull together a memorial and unique event.
In fact, some of your best deals can be last minute bookings with vendors who want to fill in unbooked dates.

Think you can’t have live music at your ceremony? Talented musicians are every where – from full time players to people who do it just for fun. We are home to some of the top artists in the country – and not just country music. If they don’t live here many of them come here to record their music. What does that mean? Band members, session players, back-up singers and
talented people from all over the world here to make their dreams come true.

I know first hand how easy it is to pull together a top notch event in no time. Brian and I got engaged in August of 2004 and I wanted a fall wedding. I made some calls and did the rest online – even my vintage wedding dress and Brian’s antique platinum wedding band were found on Ebay! We had an incredible 50s band (Sons of Beaches) and Ambrosia Catering (who has catered
many top music industry functions I have attended) did an amazing job for not a ton of money.  My ceremony music included a country singer and some award-winning songwriter/musicians…who weren’t touring at the time.

These great resources are out there for you also – and who knows your caterer might be the same who just catered a Titan’s dinner party or your 495 320x240 75166 176289369048960 125179487493282 611710 3401605 n MUSIC CITY IS THE BEST PLACE TO HAVE AN EVENT florist might be the same person doing flowers for a big name country singer or your DJ might have recently been at a celebrity’s birthday party.

After all, you are the STAR of your own event and Nashville vendors will treat you like one.

Cade and I grew up in Nashville and met way back in ninth grade where we began a friendship that lasted throughout high school.  After college we acknowledged our feelings for each other and made the big decision to become a couple.

We discovered many exciting things about one another and our commitment grew strong.  Now Cade and I enjoy a
great life together, living in a home that we bought last year and acquiring a new dog every so often (two so far, Frieda and Star, and there’s Minnie, our little black cat).

Cade and I share a love of nature, family, food and simplicity, and we try not to let work get in
the way of our fun!  We look forward to our beautiful wedding this spring and can’t wait for the honeymoon in Costa Rica!

My fiancé and I met in the tenth grade. We had a lot in common as we were both new, so we found ourselves quickly becoming DSCF6295 682x1024 Gianna & Josh Weddingfriends.  We never dated, but were always involved in each other’s lives.  I loved our high school friendship!  We didn’t keep in touch after graduation, crazy with the invention of myspace and facebook, nonetheless, we did not talk for almost 10 years.  We ran into each other at a gas station and he got my number to “catch up” J  Our first date was truly catching up…over the past ten years; we had SO much to share.  We have been together ever since and love how our relationship was founded in high school.

From our first couple months of dating, we KNEW we were a match made. We were anticipating spending our lives together from an early stage in our relationship.  This summer he took me to Chattanooga and I had an idea the proposal was coming.  He had the day packed with activities but the one part of the day where I thought we were “killing time” was the part where my dreams came true!  We took a walk on a bridge and asked a random stranger to take our picture.  I took a minute to explain my camera and when I turned around, he was on one knee!!  I had NO idea and that is what made it priceless.  My ring is amazing and beyond what I imagined.  Yes he hung the moon.

We are currently planning our wedding for November 20, 2010.  I have had my fair share of weddings and am beyond overjoyed that it is now my turn.  I knew I wanted pewter and red for my colors and vintage décor.   Front Porch Farms sold me on one visit.  The property is flawless and so what I envisioned for my outside fall wedding.  We have been raised in church but I never imagined a church wedding.  The ceremony will be on the grounds with a breathtaking view.  Our reception will be in a new covered pavilion, so classy.   I come from a BIG Italian family and Josh is an only child J  My precious mother passed away 2 ½ years ago and as this is the most bitter sweet time in my life, my fiancé has been wonderful to me.  My family and friends have held me up during this time and I am grateful.  Our families will be one and I cannot wait!  This time will be here before we know it and I am savoring every moment.  My dream is coming true before my eyes!  November 20th here we come!

Sydney & Lucas Wedding

Our families’ relationships precedes ours. Our sweet grandparents and their children befriended each other in church years ago and soon became just like family.

Lucas and I have “known” each other our entire lives really. We would see each other at church occasionally and we were even in a couple of church plays together (A Christmas Carol) when we were about 10 & 11. Lucas was oblivious to the crush I had on him during this time because he was the “cooler older” guy.

Fast forward three years ago when we reconnected. I had just moved back from England after being there three years. Lucas and I hadn’t seen or spoken to each other in years! One day he added me on Facebook and we exchanged the normal pleasantries.

I invited to him to help me in the youth ministry I lead at our church and he agreed. That’s where our friendship took off like wild fire! A few months after our friendship had grown, we made it official and decided that we were quite fond of each other. Two and a half years later I found him on his knee beside me with a beautiful ring as we were having pictures taken by our friend. He nervously asked me to marry him and whole-heartedly screamed “YES!”

We are thankful for the friendship we have found in each other just as our families founded their friendship and we hope to follow in the steps of both sets of our Grandparents who have been married for over 50 years!

“Can we be together forever?”  Aspen Thomas 768x1024 Aspen & Thomas

During the 20 months of a long distance relationship, this is the question that Aspen & Thomas kept asking each other. Now their wait is  over.

November 13, 2010 saw them celebrate their long anticipated wedding at beautiful Front Porch Farms.

The couple first met while attending UT-Martin together, but Aspen transferred out west to finish her degree and begin pursuing her career.

Ironically, Aspen and Thomas were not the first in their families to become friends.  Aspen’s maternal grandmother worked in Nashville when she was a young woman and to eliminate a long commute she lived with the parents of a good friend.  Years later in 2009 when  Aspen & Thomas began dating, the couple discovered that it was actually Thomas’ grandparents who housed Aspen’s own grandmother all those years ago!

That’s just one of the countless connections Aspen & Thomas have discovered they share…whether it’s their love for God or hunting, fishing, music (Thomas sings and plays guitar and mandolin) or it’s some ironic similarity (Aspen has 8 male relatives with the name Thomas), they both realize that “we are truly God’s gift to each other.”

Some people might think the 13th is unlucky but this bride-to-be who was born on a 13th and was proposed to on a 13th and is now getting married on a 13th, isn’t worried at all. It’s just one more confirmation her groom is meant to be the 9th Thomas in her family and the 1st one in her life.

According to Aspen,”Front Porch Farms caught my eye because it looks like a beautiful location where we can incorporate our love of the outdoors and country life with some classic charm.”

Another thing that she liked was having “a venue that will allow me to incorporate the bakery/caterer/florist that best meets the ideas we have in mind (we like to be unique!) — some of the outdoor locations I have looked at seem to only offer “cookie cutter” packages.”
